2024 Huether Lasallian Conference: Honoring Excellence in Education

The 2024 Huether Lasallian Conference, themed “Lasallian Education Today: Integral, Spiritual, Transformational,” will take place November 21-23 in Baltimore, Maryland. This annual gathering brings together Lasallian educators from across the Region to explore innovative educational practices, share insights, and deepen their commitment to the Lasallian mission.

Named in honor of Brother Francis Huether, FSC, the conference began in 1973 as a forum for secondary school administrators and has since grown to include educators from all Lasallian ministries. Through keynote addresses, panel discussions, breakout sessions, and prayer services, the conference fosters collaboration and reflection on key themes in Lasallian education.

A centerpiece of the conference is the recognition of Distinguished Lasallian Educators (DLEs), an honor established in 1987. These awards highlight educators whose exceptional contributions embody the Lasallian mission of faith, service, and community. This year, six educators will be celebrated for their outstanding work.

The 2024 Distinguished Lasallian Educators are:

Brother Daniel Aubin, FSC (Saint John Paul II Academy, Boca Raton, FL)

With over five decades of service, Brother Daniel has been a guiding force in multiple Lasallian ministries. His leadership, mentorship, and dedication to educational excellence have positively impacted students and colleagues, leaving a lasting legacy of faith and service.

Teresa Diamond (La Salle Academy Philadelphia, PA)

For 19 years, Teresa has led this San Miguel school with a focus on faith, academic excellence, and social justice. She has created service-learning opportunities that inspire students to make meaningful contributions to their communities while living out core Lasallian values.

William Leahy (La Salle College High School, Wyndmoor, PA)

William’s diverse roles as a religion teacher, campus minister, counselor, and Hall of Fame lacrosse coach have transformed lives. His unwavering commitment to Lasallian values has inspired students and colleagues alike to strive for excellence and embody faith and service.

The Huether Conference celebrates these distinguished educators, whose work strengthens the Lasallian mission of touching hearts and transforming lives. Together, we honor their contributions and renew our commitment to the legacy of Saint John Baptist de La Salle.
