Lasallian Animators Unite for Mission Formation at Tinton Falls Gathering

Lasallian animators from various ministries gathered on March 7-8, 2025 in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, for the Animators Gathering, a two-day immersive experience focused on collaboration and enhancing mission-oriented formation practices.

The gathering began with a prayer, setting a reflective tone for the gathering. Brother Robert Schaefer, FSC, Visitor/Provincial, led the first session, Channeling Lasallian Formation for Mission: The Pilgrim’s Handbook, which explored approaches to fostering transformative local formation. Table discussions followed, allowing participants to exchange insights and strategies.

The second day began with morning prayer, followed by the session, Local Lasallian Formation Plans and the Covenants of Ministerial Relationship presented by Jim Logan from the Office of Mission & Ministry. The session provided valuable insights into strengthening ministerial partnerships through structured formation plans. A school presentation from Christian Brothers Academy Lincroft highlighted how the school integrates local Lasallian formation plans within its community.

Participants later took part in workshop-style discussions before gathering for lunch. The final session, The New Lasallian Mission Assessment Process (LMAP), also led by Jim Logan, introduced updates to the assessment process aimed at evaluating and strengthening mission effectiveness.

The gathering concluded with shared reflections, reinforcing the commitment of Lasallian animators to deepening formation within their ministries. The experience provided a renewed sense of purpose and practical tools to support the ongoing work of Lasallian education and mission.
