These initiatives serve to transmit the Institute’s rich foundational sources. They also cultivate the personal and professional attributes required to effectively address the challenges of the Lasallian mission.
The District of Eastern North America (DENA) held its Chapter & Assembly with the theme “So the Next Generation Will Know.” The theme reminded us that we gathered in the spirit of faith and zeal for the incredible mission that had been entrusted to us.

VEGA is an engaging formation program tailored for young Lasallian professionals between the ages of 22 and 35, offering an exhilarating opportunity to deepen their commitment to the Young Lasallian community.
The Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies is an intensive program that explores the life and work of St John Baptist De La salle and the roots of the Lasallian education.
The Huether Lasallian Conference is an annual gathering that brings together Lasallian educators from the region. Each year, it rotates in location and theme, with a strong emphasis on addressing innovative issues. This event is open to all faculty and staff involved in Lasallian ministries. The conference features a diverse program that includes keynote speeches, panel discussions, interactive breakout sessions, and spiritual prayer services. It invites scholars both within and outside the Lasallian tradition to contribute their expertise on topics related to the annual theme.
The Brother John Johnston Institute of Contemporary Lasallian Practice is dedicated to exploring the rich Lasallian heritage in the context of today’s world. Using contemporary texts, the institute actively addresses the pressing issues and challenges of our time. It encourages participants to engage in reflective discussions on various crucial aspects of the Lasallian educational mission.
LASSCA, the Lasallian Association of Secondary School Chief Administrators, aims to promote cooperation and collaboration among secondary school leaders in the RELAN region. They hold an annual three-day gathering where chief administrators discuss educational leadership themes, share best practices and innovative ideas to further promote the Lasallian educational mission.

The Lasallian Social Justice Institute (LSJI) aims to facilitate a transformative journey towards solidarity with those in poverty and a genuine response to the Gospel and Lasallian values. It is a practical and reflective educational experience that encourages participants to connect with and learn from the impoverished, in line with the Lasallian commitment to serving the educational needs of the underprivileged and advocating for children’s rights.
Twinning, an initiative by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, fosters financial assistance from financially capable districts to support those in need. In the Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN), middle and secondary schools in the United States and Toronto are paired with 14 ministries in the Lwanga District of Africa, encompassing Kenya, Nigeria, Eritrea, and Ethiopia. Beyond financial aid, RELAN schools and Lwanga ministries develop fraternal relationships among students: sharing challenges, achievements, stories, and experiences.
