Face of the Fund: Michael Triano – St. Peter’s Boys High School, Staten Island NY

by Michael Triano – junior at St. Peter’s Boys High School, Staten Island NY

My name is Michael Triano, and I am a junior at Saint Peter’s Boys High School in Staten Island. Ever since I was young, I had a dream of becoming an Eagle and being part of this special school. My dad is an alumnus of the school, class of 1989. He has told me stories about how amazing this school is. He was the captain of a two-time Catholic High School Athletic Association City Championship team. To this day, my dad still keeps in touch with his fellow Eagles. When they get together, they enjoy reminiscing about all the wonderful things they accomplished at this school.

One of my favorite things about this school is the family-like atmosphere and brotherhood. Saint Peter’s has multiple levels of education, and extracurricular activities for a wide range of student interests. From the second I stepped through the doors of Saint Peter’s on my first day of freshman year, every person in this school has been welcoming and supportive. Whenever I have needed help, someone has been there. The motto for Saint Peter’s is “Builders of Boys. Makers of Men.” Their goal is to prepare their students for the real world and shape them into the best young men that they can be. I am so grateful that I have the great opportunity to be a part of this school. It has become like a second home.

At Saint Peter’s, you build relationships that you will have for the rest of your life, as I have seen with my dad and his friends, and as I am now making. I am proud to follow in my father’s footsteps, attending this school, and even wearing number ten, the same number he wore when he was here. I thank the De La Salle Fund for helping give me the opportunity to live out my dream of being a Saint Peter’s Eagle.
