Brother from Down Under Arrives at De La Salle Collegiate
Australian Brother, Lewis Harwood, FSC, was welcomed in March to De La Salle Collegiate (DLSC) in Warren MI. Br. Lewis, who taught at a Lasallian school in Sydney Australia before deciding to join the Brothers, professed his final vows in 2017. While he completes a year-long program in Theology studies at Sacred Heart Seminary, Br. Lewis will be living in the Brothers’ Community at De La Salle Collegiate, and volunteering in the Counseling Department and Academic Support at the school. Br. Kenneth Kalinowski, FSC, Principal, and Br. Lewis first met in 2010 at the Christian Brothers Center Novitiate in Napa CA. Br. Lewis visited Michigan in 2022 when considering post-graduate studies, and accepted the offer to become part of the De La Salle Collegiate community. “Thus far, the kids are just amazing,” he said. “They are incredibly respectful.”
