The District of Eastern North America (DENA) held its Chapter & Assembly with the theme “So the Next Generation Will Know.” The theme reminded us that we gathered in the spirit of faith and zeal for the incredible mission that had been entrusted to us.
Our purpose is clear: to provide a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor, according to the ministry the Church has entrusted to us.
These gatherings were part of the ongoing journey to ensure the vitality of the Lasallian mission. The goal was to evaluate all aspects of the District and encourage shared decision-making among Brothers and Lasallian partners. This approach aligned with the recent General Chapter’s call for co-responsibility, transparency, and solidarity.
By focusing on key thematic areas such as: The Animation & Leadership of the Brothers’ Communities; Lasallian Association for Mission; Ministry Governance & Leadership; Mission Accompaniment and Board Relations, Faith Formation & Announcing the Good News of Jesus Christ; Lasallian Vocations; and New Calls from the Peripheries; the District could develop a strategic plan for the next 6 years that reflected the directives of the General Chapter and the Third International Mission Assembly. The plan would give direction to District leadership, the Mission Council, and Lasallian ministries to ensure the vitality of the Mission in DENA.
We are Lasallians: De La Salle Christian Brothers, educators, staff, students, parents, alumni and supporters following the vision of Saint John Baptist de La Salle.
The Lasallian Region of North America (RELAN) includes ministries in the United States and Canada. The Lasallian mission is present in 80 countries.
High-level mission formation programs are available, designed to strengthen Lasallian identity and mission in the hearts and minds of those who serve.
